The dog hasn’t been adopted in a year merely because of his slightly different appearance.
All Wally wants is love from his family ๐
Everyone at the Town of Islip Animal Shelter could tell Wally had a difficult upbringing when he first arrived. He was perhaps ten years old when he came in as a stray, and it was obvious that he had most likely spent his entire existence outside. Wally’s new shelter pals quickly stepped in to provide him with the love and attention he’d been lacking since, despite everything he’d been through, all he’d ever wanted was to be loved.

Along with a few other medical problems, Wally had a serious skin infection and was blind in one eye. He also had a distinct difference in appearance. Though his new pals hoped that everyone else would get to meet the amazing dog they’d immediately fallen in love with, they were concerned that his unusual appearance could turn off potential families.
The Town of Islip Animal Shelter’s Danielle Gorle, a veterinary technician, told The Dodo, “He loves to slobber on you and will do anything for some food.” “He also enjoys lounging around doing nothing.”

Sadly, Wally has been waiting at the shelter for more than a year. The lovely canine only wants to find a family to share his abundance of love with.
Wally is an elderly dog who just wants a peaceful place to spend his golden years. His rescuers are hoping to find him a forever home as soon as possible because he is beginning to suffer from the stress of living in a shelter.

Gorle remarked, “He seems to be declining.” When he initially arrived, he was happier. He appears unhappy in his kennel, yet he enjoys going outside.

Wally would thrive in a calm, pet-free environment without stairs, children under 15, and other small animals. Wally just needs love, and he will return the favor by giving it all back to you. He also needs a family that is aware of his medical needs.

After a difficult beginning to his life, Wally’s only desire is to spend the remainder of his days cuddled up with a loving family.
